Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke normally hosts his Traveling City Hall on the last Wednesday of the month, but this month's meeting has been moved up one week. It will be held on November 19th at SWIRCA.

This will be the third in a series of Mayor’s Community Conversations and will start at 5:30pm at the SWIRCA Ivy Room at 16 W. Virginia Street.

These Community Conversations are designed to give residents the opportunity to share their thoughts and ideas with city government leaders. The goal is to increase community involvement and effect change that will hopefully result in an improvement of the city’s overall quality of life. This first series of meetings will focus on decreasing criminal activity.

From Mayor Winnecke's Office

The Evansville Police Department will give an overview on crime prevention and community policing; the Department of Metropolitan Development and Building Commission will discuss blight elimination and code enforcement; WorkOne will offer information on current job openings in Evansville and Southwest Indiana; and Jacobsville Join In will talk about recent projects to improve the quality of life for Jacobsville residents.

The Vanderburgh County Prosecutor’s office will also participate in the discussion, and city department heads will be available to discuss a variety of issues with residents one-on-one following the open discussion. The meeting is open to all city residents.
