Evansville Thermostat Bandit Leaves People in the Cold!

Well this can be added to list of "odd things thieves have stolen."

As I was doing my nightly scroll through Facebook I saw an EvansvilleWatch post that made me do a double take. According to the post an Evansville resident had their thermostat stolen off their wall! Since their thermostat was stolen, they had no way to turn the heat on in their home and therefore were cold.

900 Block of West Missouri Street. Caller stated a Male has taken the front of the thermostat off the wall, and they don't have any heat.

My first thought was "who steals a thermostat?"  My next thought was "do they know the thermostat bandit?"  Did he just walk in a say "this is mine now" and yank it off the wall?  Was it an angry dad who was tired of paying a high electric bill? We may never know the answer.

Either way, I hope their thermostat was returned in safe working order, and they were able to get their heat back on!  This is just one of the many reasons if you aren't following EvansvilleWatch...you should be!
