Movie Produced by Evansville Natives Coming to Netflix June 1st
If you haven't had a chance to see Bullitt County which was written, produced, directed, and starring Memorial High School graduates, David McCracken and Josh Reidford, you'll have your chance to watch it as many times as you want starting tomorrow (June 1st, 2019) when it becomes available to stream on Netflix.
I first met David and Josh several years ago as they were preparing to shoot their first independent film, Daylight here in the Tri-State. They came by the station to discuss their needs for shooting locations and extras, and I was so fascinated by the process I invited them back multiple times throughout filming to provide updates on how things were going. We've kept in touch ever since.
Whereas Daylight was more a supernatural thriller, Bullitt County is something completely different. Set in 1977, the story centers on four friends who make a bachelor party trip to Bullitt County, Kentucky (the heart of Bourbon Country) and learn of an urban legend surrounding buried Prohibition Era money. As you can see in the trailer above, things get a little crazy when they decide to search for it.
David and Josh are both great and talented guys, and I'm so glad to see all their hard work pay off. Be sure to check out Bullitt County when it pops up on Netflix, I definitely will.
