What is Geocaching?

Before we get into this awesome event heading to Owensboro, we should first cover Geocaching, what is it?  In the simplest of ways to describe it, Geocaching is basically a treasure hunt.  You can use the GPS on your phone to track down a "Geocache" which is often times something small that you can write your name on, or just log that you were there.

Geocaching.com describes it as:

Geocaching is a real-world, outdoor adventure that is happening all the time, all around the world. To play, participants use the Geocaching app and/or a GPS device to navigate to cleverly hidden containers called geocaches. There are millions of geocaches in 190 countries waiting to be discovered—there are probably even some near you right now.

I remember in the 2010s my friends and I got really into Geocaching, we would drive all over the Tri-State to find as many Geocaches as we could.  I remember one was hidden inside bushes in front of a local store, we had a heck of a time trying to find it, and also not get the cops called on us.  But it was all in good fun, we found the Geocache, wrote our names on the tiny slip of paper inside the Geocache, and placed it back where it belonged.
