One of my favorite shows on TV is Forged in Fire on the History Channel. If you're unfamiliar with the concept, it's basically Chopped, but instead of whipping up a meal with mystery ingredients within a set amount of time, the challenge Forged competitors face is creating knives using metal and specific guidelines given to them by the show's host, Wil Willis, within a given time frame. It's fascinating to watch these bladesmith take a piece of scrap metal and form it into a blade. I can't get enough.

Tonight's episode will be especially fun to watch as one of the competitors is from Evansville! Benton Frisse (pictured above) has been a blacksmith since 2012 and sat down with our sister-station, MY105.3 on Tuesday to talk about his how he started in the profession, along with his experience on the show (as much as he could without giving anything away). Based on the preview from the History Channel's website, it looks like things get a little dicey for Benton at one point.

Tune in at 8:00 p.m. Central tonight to see how Benton does. I know I will be.
