Stand with Albion Fellows Bacon Center this Domestic Violence Awareness Month and join a number of businesses and individuals who are taking the pledge to say We Believe, presented by The Diamond Galleria, Old National Bank, The Women’s Hospital, Fifth Third Bank, and Deaconess!

“We Believe roots itself in the power of individual voices and brings together the concerns and strength of the brave individuals who have so intimately shared their experiences with the staff at Albion Fellows Bacon Center,” says Kristie Byrns, Executive Director of Albion Fellows Bacon Center.  “In partnership with the Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence (ICADV), we now know that a barrier for leaving an abusive relationship can be the negative social stigmas we have come to place on those seeking assistance.”

All too often, statistics can become defining factors in our lives.  It’s reported that 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have experienced some form of physical violence by an intimate partner, but these numbers do not remind us that these individuals may be our brothers or sisters, teachers or doctors, next-door neighbors or the stranger we pass on the street.  We believe looks past these statistics and recognizes our individual rights to safe and healthy relationships, and the change our community can drive in coming together and supporting one another.

Take part in saying We Believe and join Albion Fellows Bacon Center and our community on Friday, October 4, beginning at 11:00 am at Old National Bank on One Main St.  Bruce Li will be serving up some delicious lunch, Albion will be on-site with information about how you can become more involved, and Evansville Power Yoga will be leading a mindful yoga session from 12:00 - 1:00 pm on the lawn!
