Who would have thought a video game could be a tool in rebuilding the beloved Notre-Dame Cathedral?

I will be the first to say, I hate video games. Probably because I am terrible at them and I don't understand the point of them. However, I know people who love them and spend a great deal of time and money investing in the hobby, They just aren't my thing but I do have more respect for the creation of a video game now.

Yesterday, we learned the beloved Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris, France caught on fire. It took a while to contain it and most of the damage was already done by the time the fire was out. People all over the world took to social media to share their sadness and heartbreak of the historical cathedral up in flames.

Many have already asked if the cathedral will be rebuilt. The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, shared on Twitter, "we will rebuild it...all together."

As the days move forward and the commotion settles down, one video game could be of help in the rebuilding of the famed Notre- Dame Cathedral. Yes, you read that right. The video game "Assassin's Creed Unity," which is set in Paris required a great deal of time and study of the cathedral to create.

According to Business Insider, Caroline Miousse, an Ubisoft level artist, spent two years studying details of the cathedral to create as accurate a depiction as possible in the game. Miousse spent 80% of her time on the Notre-Dame feature of the game because the cathedral is a centerpiece in "Unity" where players can explore in the video game. Business Insider said, the "Assassin's Creed" series is known for its lovingly detailed re-creations of historic places, and the Notre-Dame Cathedral in "Unity" is no exception."

As for the rebuild of the beloved Notre-Dame and use of the video game, it has yet to be confirmed but it's a possibility that could be of use!
