Evansville DJ Reacts to Listeners’ Startling Unpopular Music Opinions

You know what they say about opinions...we all have them, and just about everyone has an opinion about just about everything, including music. We asked our listeners to share an unpopular music opinion with us, and they did not disappoint. They took to the MY105.3 Facebook page and bombarded us with all kinds of opinions, some positive but mostly negative - things like "I think (insert band) stinks."

I feel like I should explain why we asked the question in the first place. This all started when Liberty and I were discussing this year's Super Bowl halftime performance. In case you didn't know, the show will feature some of the biggest names in R&B and hip hop - Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar. I was singing the praises of the recently-released trailer promoting the mini-concert. I was taken aback when Liberty didn't share my excitement - in fact, she said that she couldn't care less about it.

Fast forward past our little squabble and we decided that others might think her opinion is unpopular, while others will agree with her. So, we thought it'd be fun to hear some more unpopular opinions about popular musicians. The responses were great, and the spanned a wide variety of musical genres. It was really tough for me to stay neutral while sharing the Facebook comments on the air. I got to the point where I couldn't hold my tongue anymore - I had to give my two cents about some of the opinions we got. Keep scrolling to see them.
