Kids and Grandparents Day This Weekend at the Evansville Museum
"Kids & Grandparents Day" is happening this Sunday, September 7. Come join the museum to celebrate the diverse generations in our families! The event is from 12n-4pm and will include special guests from the 501st Legion.
The 501st Legion is a group of Star Wars© enthusiasts who will be in full costume from 12n-2pm to pose for pictures and interact with the visitors. Other fun things to see and do will be available for all ages and interests. cMoe will be helping children create oobleck, a non-Newtonian fluid that acts as both a solid and a liquid depending on the circumstances. Visitors can see Wesselman Nature Society's biofact table, explore artifacts from Angel Mounds, get their face painted, or help Evie The Trash Dog fetch trash. There are also opportunities to participate in a scavenger hunt created by All About Eyes or take a photo with a train engineer on the Museum's steam engine.
Make time for many other programs and activities for the whole family. Newburgh Acadamy of Dance will perform a variety of pieces at 1 PM, Children's Center for Dance Education will be performing scenes from Beauty and the Beast at 2pm, Mesker Park Zoo will bring some exotic animals from 12n-2pm, and Wesselman Nature Society will have raptors on hand from 1pm-3pm.
A special ticket price of $3 everyone 4 and older will be offered for The Koch Immersive Theater. Four shows will be playing on Kids & Grandparents Day: Sea Monsters at 1 PM, Skies Over Evansville at 2 PM, Back to the Moon for Good at 3 PM, and Perfect Little Planet at 4 PM.
