The Indianapolis Colts and United Healthcare have teamed up to give Indiana High School football teams the chance to win brand new, state-of-the-art helmets.

No one will argue that football isn't a high-impact, and violent sport. With new research in recent years showing the prolonged effects of concussions, player's safety is more important than ever before. For many high schools across the state, attempting to keep up with the latest advancements in equipment can be difficult due to the cost.

The helmets up for grabs are five star rated based on ratings by the Virginia Tech Helmet Rating system and cost anywhere between $199.99 to $425.00 each. When you figure in the number of players a high school team can have (in many cases over 50), the cost of providing new helmets can add up quickly.

Schools and fans can sign up to win the helmets for their team through the Colts official website.
