Evansville Red Cross Hosting Give Thanks Give Life Blood Drive November 20th
The holiday season is always a time to reflect and appreciate what you have. It's also a time when the American Red Cross is in desperate need of blood donations.
It's not unusual to see a dip in donations this time of year. Even those who donate on a regular basis get caught up in everything the holiday season entails, losing track of the days, and skipping out on donating. Unfortunately, the number of patients who require those life-saving donations often remains steady, or in some cases increases during this time of year.
The Red Cross understands how easy it is to get wrapped up in the hustle and bustle of the holiday season which is why they're offering a friendly reminder with their annual Give Thanks, Give Life Blood Drive on Monday, November 20th with 44News.
The one-day collection drive will run from 6:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Red Cross headquarters on the corner of Stockwell Road and the Lloyd Expressway. Now in its 10th year, the annual drive has collected over 1,670 pints of blood according to a press release provided by the Red Cross.
To donate, simply schedule an appointment by calling 1-800-RED-CROSS, downloading the Red Cross app, or visiting the Red Cross website. Walk-ins are most certainly welcome.
Donors must have a donor ID card or two forms of identification at the time of donation, and will be treated to Donut Bank donuts, Texas Roundhouse chili and butter bread, Olive Garden pasta and bread sticks, and a long-sleeve Red Cross t-shirt while supplies last.
