Helping Animals in Our Community

The Vanderburgh Humane Society plays a huge part in helping homeless animals in our community. Not only are they a shelter, but they also host low-cost vaccine clinics, and low-cost spay and neuter clinics to help pet owners in the community as well.

Vanderburgh Humane Society Needs Unique Donations

The Vanderburgh Humane Society took to Facebook to ask for unique donations.  They're in need of items that help with enrichment activities for the dogs in their care. As you can imagine being cooped up in a cage can get very boring for dogs (even though the VHS does their best to get them out of their cages and give them adequate playtime and exercise), so there are activities and treats they can give the dogs that help keep the pups from getting bored. Specifically, they are looking for spray-style cans of Easy Cheese, and chicken broth.

Here's what Vanderburgh humane Society said about the donations needed on Facebook:

More cheese whiz and chicken broth, please!!
These two items are used daily for dog enrichment and we are currently OUT! Donations can be brought to the shelter Tuesdays-Saturdays, noon-6pm and Sundays, noon-4pm
