Aurora Evansville Receives $10,000 Grant For Work With Homeless
Aurora Evanville continues to work to find and/or create solutions to prevent homelessness in our community, with a goal of ending it all together. Aurora recently received a grant that will go a long way towards achieving their mission.
Aurora, along with eight other local organizations, is part of the Evansville Network of Diversion (E.N.D.). The mission of END is to "divert individuals and families from shelter using diversion conversations and coordinated community support."
In June, the Vanderburgh Community Foundation awarded a $10,000 Community Good Grant to Aurora and the END. The team of agencies will use the funds to help people facing a housing crisis stay housed and avoid homelessness. Aurora’s work is part of Evansville’s effective homeless diversion initiative, which has helped stabilize over 50 area households since it began in 2018.
