It is always enjoyable speaking with Lisa Maiden, the Adults Programming Coordinator at the Daviess County Public Library. She came on Shaped by Faith to share all the amazing activities and events for children and adults to do during their Summer break. You will find that there is something for everyone at the Library.

Preschool Programs
(recommended for ages 0-5)
Baby/Toddler Storytime (every Monday and Thursday) 9:30
Our youngest guests (ages 0-2) and their caregivers are invited to join us for stories, songs, and movement to help them prepare for a life of learning. Stay to play and socialize with a craft or other activity.

Tiny Dancers (6/4, 7/2) 10:00
Put on your dancing shoes and join us for an exciting dance party with songs, movement, rhymes, and just plain fun. Parents and caregivers are invited to join in and show off their dance moves.

Dress for a mess and join us as we create a fun art project.

Join us as we read stories and learn about people, cultures, and art from around the world.

Drop in as Fairy Dust Entertainment debuts their new Arabian Princess to celebrate the new movie, Aladdin! Families can meet the Princess and enjoy an Arabian-themed party with crafts, activities, and music. (Registration is NOT required.)

Sarah will teach the family how to safely and effectively use essential oils for kids’ physical and emotional health. There will be a coloring activity and story time for the children during the Class.

Watercolor Galaxy Painting (7/11) à Registration Required 6:00
The library will provide all the supplies you need to create your own celestial watercolor painting. Some of the colors may stain, so wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty.
Wild Mountain Thyme Patriotic Concert (7/12) 6:00
Wild Mountain Thyme will honor our great country’s musical heritage and 4th of July Independence Celebration with a journey through our past with some tunes we’ve all known since our childhood.
Essential Oils: Oils for the Outdoors (7/16) à Registration Required 6:00
Join Beth Jarboe as she discusses which essential oils are best used to have fun outdoors. She will cover topics including oils for insect repellent and oils for first aid
Moon Landing Memories (7/18) 6:00
Celebrate the 50th anniversary of the moon landing with a presentation from History Instructor Kevin Dorth. Then feel free to share your stories of where you were during the moon landing and what you thought.

Meet writer, producer, director, and actor Sarah Tuck. Books will be available for purchase.
Book Folding Class (7/25) 6:00
The library will provide all the supplies you need to make your own fold & cut book art. Some math calculations and reading a ruler are required. A choice of 8-10 designs will be available. Registration is required.
Rocket Code: Software in Space (7/31) 6:00
Boyce Reeves will give a talk about working with the space program from the late 1970s to the late 1990s. Boyce helped make the code that helped to run the space ships while in space.
