Owensboro High School Hosts “Ghost Out” Before Prom (VIDEO)

Owensboro High School hosted a student Ghost Out today before prom takes place this weekend.  Several students participated in a mock drunk driving accident and more.

Sixteen students were pulled from class and pronounced dead.  In their place an obituary and a sign stating no one can sit here the rest of the day.  This marked their passing and an empty space.

All students involved went through exactly what it would be like in a drunk driving situation from beginning to end.

As a parent of one of the students involved I saw raw emotion, compassion, and hurt.  I also witnessed our emergency responders do an excellent job for an amazing awareness day for our students.

Thankful for Owensboro High School Administration, OPD, OFD, EMS, and the Owensboro Health Staff, and all others involved today.
