Joplin stations in disaster mode.
With dozens dead and many missing after tornadoes struck late Sunday, some broadcasters in Joplin, MO are continuing with wall-to-wall disaster coverage today. At the biggest cluster in the market, owned by Zimmer Radio, the storm spared all of the station’s facilities and towers but more than a half dozen employees lost their homes. The good news: no one was injured. As rough weather approached, staff raced to the station to air live programming and weather warnings.
