The Allure of Abandoned Places
There's something about abandoned places that fascinate me. I'm not really sure why, I think it's just so interesting to see what got left behind when everyone moved on. It's almost like the abandoned places, and what was left behind can kind of tell its own story. They're a time capsule of a place that sits frozen in time.
It's also so strange to see a place that was once so full of life, and once a bustling place is now so empty and broken down. It is definitely a stark reminder that nothing in life is permanent.
Abandoned places are typically something we see in films or television, especially movies and shows with postapocalyptic themes, and I think that is part of the reason that abandoned places seem so haunting.
Abandoned Indiana Hospital
Located in Tell City, Indiana sits an old building that was once the location of Perry County Memorial Hospital. While trying to do some research online, I struggled to find much information about this hospital. According to an article from IndianaEconomicDigest.net, this building was built in 1951 and served as the location of the Perry County Memorial Hospital until the mid-2010s. The article from July 2010 announced the new expansion of the new hospital to be built after they had outgrown this hospital location.
I believe the current location of Perry County Memorial Hospital opened in 2015, which leads me to believe that this old location has probably not been in use since 2015 or 2016.
Footage Inside Abandoned Hospital
Recently a YouTube channel by the name Dashborderless shared footage from inside the old hospital. The footage is quite haunting, and to be honest, after seeing it, it made me want to stay as far away from this site as possible! You can see the haunting footage in the video below.
