America’s Best City for Single Dads is in Illinois and it’s not Chicago
The greatest city for single dads in America has been announced and it's in Illinois.
Better yet, the city that made the list is not even Chicago.
24/7 Tempo pieced together 30 cities in America that feature towns from one coast to another but smack dab in the middle of the US, you'll find the top spot for single dads.
Here's how they figured it out:
24/7 Tempo reviewed a ranking created by LawnStarter, a lawn-care start-up that conducts research into city and state amenities. The site used data from some 20 government and non-government sources to rank the 200 largest U.S. cities across 36 differently weighted metrics in six main categories: affordability, child care, health and education, home and outdoors, work-life balance, and community support.
At the very top of the is Naperville. Recently voted as the most overrated city in Illinois and also the best, so go figure.
Naperville ranked 2nd overall in affordability, 28th in community support, child care 63rd, and work-life balance 95th.
Some more stats on Naperville:
- The median household income is about $125,000
- It's only 30 minutes from Chicago
So while it's clear Naperville didn't come in at #1 in any category the overall score is what gave one of Illinois' largest cities the top spot.
I'm sure being a single dad is tough. However, having a fine city like Naperville nearby seems like the perfect fit for anyone looking to live their very best "single dad life."
Are there other cities in Illinois or even Wisconsin that are a bit more friendly towards single dads than others? Tell us.
