Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, indeed.

Police arrested a Greeley, Colorado woman in April after she attacked her boyfriend for spending too much time with a sick calf he was trying to nurse back to health.

Thirty-four-year-old Christina Cantu has been charged with felony menacing and misdemeanor criminal mischief after she tried to stab Fernando Rodriguez with a knife and kicked a hole in a door.

Cantu saw Rodriguez tending to the animal and came to the very logical conclusion it meant he no longer cared for her. An affidavit said, "Fernando was taking care of a sick calf when Christina came home and was angry at him for paying more attention to the sick animal than her. Christina accused Fernando of not being in love with her anymore."

Rodriguez soon found that, in addition to the calf, he also had to get his lady love to feel better. He told her he did still love her, but then pushed her over the edge when he told her things weren't working out, which led to an argument ... which led to Cantu making the very rational decision of going to her kitchen ... which led to her grabbing a knife ... which led to her going after Rodriguez while she threatened to kill him.

Ah, if she could only have played it cooler during the demise of their relationship.

Rodriguez made a beeline for the bathroom, but Cantu reportedly kicked the door and planted the knife in it, destroying the blade. She soon left the home and later told police nothing happened. Hey, if our significant other left us for a member of the animal kingdom, we'd try to downplay it, too.
