Mayor Stephanie Terry is inviting residents to the next Traveling City Hall, happening on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Goodwill-Helms Hall, located at 5001 Washington Avenue. This is a great opportunity to ask questions, share ideas, and hear directly from Evansville city leaders.

Bringing City Hall Into the Neighborhood

Traveling City Hall is designed to bring local government into neighborhoods across Evansville, making it easier for residents to connect with the people making decisions that affect the community every day.

Why Mayor Terry Values These Meetings

Mayor Stephanie Terry says these community meetings have become one of her favorite ways to connect with residents.

"Some of the best conversations I have happen at Traveling City Hall," Terry said. "Residents ask thoughtful questions, share ideas, and bring concerns that help shape our work. Open communication and transparency are essential to building trust, and we're committed to ensuring every resident feels heard and informed."

Road Improvements Take Center Stage

The evening will begin with updates from the Mayor's Office before turning the spotlight on this month's featured topic: road improvements. If you've been wondering about construction projects, street repairs, or future infrastructure plans, this will be the perfect opportunity to learn more and ask questions directly.

Then & Now - Evansville's Washington Square Mall Through the Years

Evansville is home to a lot of unique buildings including the first enclosed retail shopping center in Indiana. Yes, our very own Washington Square Mall was the place to be when it opened in 1963. If you walk through the mall today, you would never guess how alive the shops were, even through the 1980s. Enjoy this walk down memory lane I've put together, and maybe someday there will be new life inside 5011 Washington Ave.
