ACA is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping the animals that enter Evansville Vanderburgh Animal Care
and Control. Volunteers for ACA foster pets, create online listings to advertise pets available for adoption, raise
funds for spaying/neutering and other medical care, and do whatever it takes to match the perfect pet with the
perfect home. See pets up for adoption on Facebook at
www.facebook.com/AnotherChanceforAnimals.The Spirit Medical Fund
The Spirit Medical Fund was established after a brave little dachshund mix, later named Spirit, survived a
horrific ordeal of animal cruelty. Found at Oak Hill Cemetery around Halloween 2000, Spirit had been doused with
gasoline, set on fire and left to die. Although she was in very poor health, Spirit still had the will to live. In order
for this to be possible, she needed costly medical treatments. The community reached out and provided Animal
Care & Control with the needed money. This was the beginning of the Spirit Medical Fund.
