"Everyone's uptight. Drag is fantastic - I love it!"

Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library's highly controversial Drag Queen Story Hour reached the big air waves today when it was mentioned on the Howard Stern show.

In a 1-minute audio clip, Robin Quivers explains to Stern that there were many protestors and supporters at the event, to which he replied, "Everyone is uptight. Drag is fantastic - I love it!"

Evansville's very own Florintine Dawn was mentioned on the show as well. They quoted her saying, "Drag Queen Story Hour is a public service."

"Reading to kids means a lot to everyone," Florintine Dawn said, "Education is knowledge. The public library does a fantastic job giving out knowledge to everyone and I just feel like I could be helping that."

Stern agreed, saying, "What's the big deal?"

He then went on to express his love for the hit TV show Ru Paul's Drag Race.

Over 275 children and family members attended Drag Queen Story Hour on Saturday at the North Park Library location. An additional 150 were turned away due to capacity.

At this time, there is no additional story hour on the agenda, but recent reports said the library is willing to consider all opinions on hosting another in the future.
