Being a parent is the hardest job in the world. Fortunately I have my wife to help raise our two kids (OK, let's be honest, she does the bulk of things and I'm just kind of there). However, living with my mom after my parents divorced I've seen with my own eyes how much harder that job can be when you're flying solo. Often times, you're own personal needs, or small tasks that need to be taken care of (like routine car maintenance) gets put on the back burner so the needs of the kids can be handled first. If this sounds like your life, or the life of someone you know, The Hills Church in downtown Evansville is once again offering to take at least one of those tasks off your hands.

The Hills has partnered with Express Lube on Royal Avenue to offer free oil changes for single mothers every month who don't have the time or funds to deal with making sure the car stays running for all those practices, events, and sleepovers their kids are involved with.

This month's edition is coming up on Tuesday (May 28th, 2019), and you must first sign up through the church's website to secure a spot. The oil changes will be available from 8:00 a.m. until Noon, then again from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. to allow employees a one-hour lunch break. The church says they can "accommodate 4 cars per hour." A quick bit of math comes out to a total of 28 cars over the seven hour span, so sign up now if you can to lock in your place.
