Unique Barge Will Pass Through Henderson and Evansville This Week
Keep your eyes on the Ohio River this week for a barge that appears to look like a small town. Yes, a small town. It's not the typical barge that you see along the Henderson and Evansville river fronts. This barge is one that will stand out for sure!
According to the Evansville Courier and Press, this barge was "once part of a floating complex that housed the Argosy Casino in Sioux City, Iowa, is traveling up river this week from Wood River, Illinois, to Covington, Kentucky, a 700-mile trip that will take about 10 days to complete." BB Riverboats purchased the barge and is towing it to Covington, Kentucky. They plan on turning it into a new event facility, catering operation, wharf and business offices.
The barge is expected to pass by the Tri-State later this week. There's no set day that it will pass though, but it will surely be a sight to see. If you would like to learn more about this barge and its journey, you can click on the link below.
