Unless you are a super duper Sesame Street fan, the name Caroll Spinney probably doesn't mean anything to you. The fact is, Caroll Spinney has most likely spent hours and hours and hours in your living room over the last 50 years.

Caroll Spinney is the voice and puppeteer for the one and only Big Bird, the kind and gentle, 8-foot-two yellow bird who calls Sesame Street home. Spinney also lends his voice to Oscar the Grouch.

Spinney has been a part of Sesame Street since the very first episode back in 1969. He is now 84 years old and is ready to hang up the yellow and green suits. His final Sesame Street episodes will air on HBO in 2019 during their 50th season.
