911 gives hope

Mickey Phernetton, the 19-year-old daughter of 911 Gives Hope founder, Evansville Police Officer Patrick Phernetton, shared a special moment with one of the biggest artists in the history of music Friday night before his sold-out show at the KFC YUM! Center in Louisville.

All the great ring announcers have a catchphrase they're known for, so it only makes since for me to try and come up with my own ahead of Guns and Hoses IV.

Before the fighters step into the ring on April 9th for Guns and Hoses 9, they'll have to step on the scale at Show Me's East Friday Night.

Over the weekend, a few of my co-workers around the station and I got together at the annual Home Show to participate in the first annual Building Hope Playhouse Build. The task was to build a playhouse over two days that would be auctioned off to raise money for 911 Gives Hope.

We wanted to extend a thank you to Pet Smart, for donating brand new toys to 911 Gives Hope for the Holidays! We just picked up pallets and pallets of adorable, lovable, stuffed furry friends that will be given to pediatric patients at five local facilities this year!

Every year, Santa visits 911 Gives Hope for the Holidays. Okay, we aren't talking the fakey Santa that stuffs his belly with a pillow. No, we are talking the real, Old Saint Nicholas; Father Christmas; Papai Noel.

Cops and firefighters from around the Tri-State will trade in the boxing gloves for hockey skates to raise money for 911 Gives Hope.

The boxing gloves are coming off, and the hockey gloves are going on as the men and women of 911 Gives Hope hit the ice to raise money for their worthy cause.

As the Ronald McDonald House of Evansville nears the conclusion of the third year of operations, we hope you will join us and open your hearts to those who need it most from throughout the Tri-State ~ our children and their families!

Four years ago when Evansville Police officers and Firefighters decided to put on a charity boxing match to benefit local children, 911 Gives Hope and Guns & Hoses were born. After the first Guns & Hoses, 911 gives hope was able to distribute about $20,000 to local children's charities.
