Pet Missing After July 4th? Check Animal Control!

Animal Care and Control is bursting at the seams with dogs and cats who came in as strays due to the getting loose from being scared of fireworks. 

If you have a pet that went missing as a result of the 4th of July, be sure to go in person, and check your local Animal Control. Chances are they are currently filled to the brim with cats and dogs.

Another Chance for Animals put out a plea on Facebook, urging people to check Animal Control if their pet is missing. They need to get some animals moved out before it's too late. This time of year shelters are the busiest. With the fireworks pets get scared and they bolt causing the shelters to work overtime picking up strays.

According to ACA there are currently 14 dogs past their stray holds, and two open kennels at Animal Control. If your pet is missing, they ask that you check their first.  They also have put out a plea for fosters.  Now more than ever with the busy holiday, they need people to volunteer to foster so they can move some animals into rescues before it's too late for them.
