Pastor Jeff Phillips of Legacy Owensboro has been building a legacy through his experiences serving God. He is not your typical Pastor, having a background of twenty-five years in the Insurance Industry. He claims his time in insurance gave him a better understanding of his future church members.

Loving God and loving people is the legacy he wants to impart to others. While many would say Pastor Phillips took on a huge risk converting the former Malco Theatre into a stage for Christ, he put his faith into action as he trusted in the Lord to provide. He and his wife Melissa recently hosted Duck Dynasty's Willie Robertson at Legacy Owensboro.

Pastor Phillips is an advocate of spirit, mind, and body wellness. The scripture verse he refers to is, "Now may the God of peace make you holy in every way, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again." 1 Thessalonians 5:23. Phillips puts his faith into action once again by running six days a week, he recently ran a marathon with two of his sons.

White Water Rafting at Cumberland Falls in Kentucky

This summer, we decided to go on our first real family adventure - white water rafting. There is a white water rafting tour about four hours from the tri-state at Cumberland Falls. Run by Sheltowee Trace Adventure Resort, the tour lasts about six hours. It includes an up-close meet and greet with the falls, plenty of swimming, rock jumping, a riverboat ride, and lunch! Check out photos from our adventure.
