Vandalism, electricity and maintenance are just some of the expenses being paid by Evansville taxpayers to keep Roberts Stadium operating until its decided what should be done with the abandoned building.

Information from city controller Russ Lloyd, Jr., shows roughly $73,000 has been spent maintaining and fixing the once-loved stadium since it was last "officially" used September 18.

The largest expense?  Electricity at a cost of $19,000.

Mayor Lloyd Winnecke has organized a task force to decide what the best course of action to take about the old stadium will be.  The group has scheduled a series of public meetings starting Thursday to discuss what would be the best way to make use of the space.  Click here to find out more.
