The End of an Era in Nashville; Jack’s Bar-B-Que Closes Broadway Location
I've got some not-so-great news, y'all. It's the end of a very tasty era in downtown Nashville. If you have ever gone to a show at Bridgestone or The Ryman or hopped the bars, chances are you got grub at the iconic Jack's Bar-B-Que. I know I sure have!
The sign alone is recognizable across the country. The neon flying pigs are a beacon to all hungry honky tonkers. This morning, Jack himself took to Facebook with a sad but hopeful announcement:
Jack's Bar-B-Que Iconic Downtown Broadway Location Closing
"I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to own an iconic Broadway institution for more than three decades. Broadway is a wonderful place and a world-renowned destination. I’ve loved helping to build and be a part of that story, but now is the time to give others a chance to be successful and continue that story.
I look forward to working with my team and focusing on our other restaurants (Charlotte Avenue and West Trinity Lane) and our catering business. Catering is how I began Jack’s. In a way, I’m coming full circle. I’m excited to take our beloved pits on the road to serve the Nashville area.
Everyone loves Jack’s neon sign - our flying pigs over Broadway. We’ll be removing that sign and returning it to Joslin Signs, where it was originally built, for renovation and refurbishment. Then it will go back up in a prominent place in our city. Stay tuned for more information on that!
I’m enormously grateful to the men and women who have run our Broadway location so well for years. Many will remain a part of Jack’s team, and others will be offered great packages. There is a lot of opportunity for everyone ahead, and l’ll be excited to watch us all grow from this time.
I’ve had my share of health challenges through the years, but my doctors at Vanderbilt have been incredible. They’ve saved my life numerous times. I’m healthy today, full of energy, and ready for this next chapter!
Sincerely,
Jack Cawthon

Jack's Bar-B-Que Legacy
Here's a throwback video about the restaurant that shows just how popular the restaurant has always been. As he mentions, part of Jack's secret is looking ahead to the future, which is exactly what he is doing with this next move.
In the comment section of his Facebook post announcement, Jack also shares that their last day at 416 Broadway was Monday, August 4th. Luckily, you can still grab a delicious plate at the other two Jack's Bar-B-Que locations on Trinity Lane and Charlotte Ave. The memories and tributes are pouring out in this post.
I'm happy to know that the space is in good hands, now that the building has been sold to Robert's Western World. Have you ever eaten at Jack's? What is your favorite thing on the menu?
