Heinz & Mattel Release New ‘Barbiecue’ Sauce Just in Time for Grilling Season
Over the past year, the blockbuster movie, Barbie, has taken the world by storm. Turning everything pink and celebrating Barbies of all shapes and sizes everywhere.
Hey Barbie! Fire up the Grill!
In Barbie World, everything is pink and adorable, including their BBQ Grills. So, it only makes sense that the Barbecue sauce matches too! Back in August, Heinz made an Instagram post tease that said "Heinz just entered the chat” Who thinks we should make this dream team a reality?"
Followers were so excited about the possibility of a Barbie-branded sauce.
"I would go to the supermarket right now to buy it." one woman said. Another immediately thought of all the celebrations out there. "Do you know how many little girls' birthday parties would have this?"
Speaking of celebrations, to commemorate the 65th anniversary of Barbie, Mattel joined forces with Heinz to launch a limited-edition Heinz Classic Barbiecue Sauce. Using beetroot to achieve Barbie's signature color, the vegan mayo BBQ sauce has a smoky flavor and is suggested for topping salads or burgers.
For now, it is only available as a limited edition run of 5,000 bottles in the U.K., Spain, and online here. Hopefully, the response will be good enough for it to be shared with us here in the U.S. I know lots of Barbie fanatics who will jump at the chance to snag some. I'd definitely try it out!
And look! They even made one in Barbie's size. I remember playing with a Barbie hot dog stand which would go perfectly with it!
