Meet Callie. Callie has been at the Warrick Humane Society for over 100 days and she's ready for a forever home! The staff adores Callie. They call her "Our Girl Callie." They are heartbroken she hasn't been picked. '

Callie is a 1.5-year-old Australian Shepherd/Lab Mix and she weighs about 50 lbs. Callie is spayed, heartworm-negative, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccines!

The staff said she's an energetic dog and likes to play rough. But she loves to play with other dogs so if your dog needs a dog, Callie just might be your gal! In fact, she has a BFF at the WHS. Her name is Lily and they love rough-housing together. Because of Callie's size and playful nature, she might be best suited for a home without very small children.

Callie is very affectionate and loves a good couch snuggle. The staff said that her mannerisms can come across as intimidating but you shouldn't let that stop you from coming to meet her because once you get to know her, she's a big baby and a very special dog.

In fact, she's a favorite at a local nursing home. She was chosen as a dog ambassador to go and visit residents and as you can see she immediately toned herself down to provide some much-needed dog snuggles to the residents. Callie is an incredibly smart dog. She knows basic commands and tricks and is potty-trained and crate-trained. Since Callie is mostly a working dog breed, she needs a job to keep her mind and body busy! Looks like she'd be the perfect candidate for a therapy dog!
