Illinois made the cut, and it wasn't just something Michelin put on there as a courtesy to the state.

A joint in Chicago is getting some serious national hype now because it was among seven different spots to get the elite sandwich nod.
Lardon, already a Michelin Bib Gourmand standout, was called out by the guide for its amazingly tasty Italiano Sandwich.
