Happy Halloween Weekends at Holiday World

Happy Halloween Weekends at Holiday World will take place weekends from September 20 through October 26, 2014 with Saturday hours: 11am to 8pm CDT and Sunday hours: 11am to 5pm CDT. There you’ll enjoy Holiday World rides, seasonal shows and activities, and two corn mazes. There will also be Holidog’s 3D Halloween Adventure in the Holiday Theater, the new Carnival Chaos, Mummy’s Treasure Maze, and kids can chat with their talking pumpkin – Gourdon. Saturday evenings will also include a Halloween-themed laser light show.

Mayse Farm Market

At Mayse Farm Market, their "Family Fun on the Farm" begins on September 20, and it will continue weekends in October.  Mayse Farm Market has wagon rides to the pumpkin patch, U-pick pumpkins, pumpkin sling shot, diamond dig, the rat race, a corn maze adventure, corn hole, the corn stalk tunnel, atraw castle, and a 20 foot corn field slide. New this year are the barn yard buggies. Mayse Farm Market also sells a variety of fall goodies including apples, mums, cider, fudge, and kettle corn.

Franklin Association Moving Pictures in the Park: Ghostbusters

On September 21, grab your family to enjoy Franklin Association for their Moving Pictures in the Park showing of Ghostbusters on the West Branch Library Lawn at 2000 West Franklin St. Bring your family, pack a picnic in the park, and watch the movie under the stars. Movie starts at dusk.

West Side Nut Club Fall Festival

This year’s West Side Nut Club Fall Festival is full ages. The week-long event takes place along Franklin Street and include over 126 food booths, talent shows, and a parade. This year’s event will also include 33 different midway rides. Food booths will be open Monday, October 6-Saturday, October 11, but check out the Family Ride Day on Sunday, October 5 from 1-7pm (kiddie rides only).

Hartman Arboretum at 5939 Spirit Trail

To enjoy the fall foliage, visit the Hartman Arboretum at 5939 Spirit Trail, Evansville to see the colors of the plants and the trees at the location. Other great spots to take you family for foliage fun include the trails at Wesselman Nature Society, Howell Wetlands, and the USI to Burdette trail.

Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden: Boo at the Zoo

October 17 – 19 and October 24-26, head on out to Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden for their annual Boo at the Zoo event. Featuring fall decorations, haunted houses, and live entertainment, the event is open to public, and costumes are encouraged not necessary for their evenings of fun.
