Evansville police responded to three calls involving gun violence in less than 24 hours. 

Just before 3 a.m. Sunday morning, five people were shot outside the American Legion on Chestnut St. According to reports, three of the victims have serious injuries and were taken to the hospital. Several cars were also hit by gunfire.

According to a 14 News report, police arrested 37-year-old Keymo Johnson and booked him on attempted murder, battery with a deadly weapon, criminal mischief, resisting law enforcement, and possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon.

About three hours later at 5:45 a.m., police responded to a shots-fired call on Riverside Dr. When they arrived, there was blood but no victim. A person later showed up at a hospital with a gunshot wound. The victim's injuries were not life-threatening and nobody has been arrested in connection with the shooting.

Sunday night police responded yet again to another shots-fired call near Bartlett and Oregon just before 11 p.m. A victim showed up at the hospital with a gunshot wound, but there is no word on their condition. 14 News reported a person was in handcuffs at the scene, but no arrests have been made.
