Joel is searching for his forever home, and is currently the longest resident at Evansville Animal Control.  Today Joel had a special letter for those passing by his kennel.

***UPDATE 9/10/2018*** Joel has been adopted!! Thank you for sharing his story, it has a happy ending! Joel's story is just one of many amazing animals looking for their forever homes! Please consider rescuing your next best friend from Evansville Animal Control, or any of the many awesome rescues/shelters we have in the tri-state.

Original story continues below.

Joel is currently up for adoption at Evansville Animal Control (EVACC), and not only is he looking for his forever home, he's also their longest resident.  Today while passing out treats to the pups at EVACC  Evansville Councilwoman Missy Mosby had a cage with a note pinned to it, that caught her eye!

The note was explaining that Joel is EVACC's longest resident, and that while he gets very excited when he sees potential adopters walk by, he hasn't had his chance to "prove himself" yet.

The note says:

My name is Joel! I don't want to sound too desperate here but I'm the longest resident, and I only need a chance to prove myself.

I'm a little stinky right now, but I can assure you this is only temporary. I clean up nice!

I jump around a lot when people come to visit me, but I can't talk so inside I'm screaming "PICK ME"

Give me give minutes, I'll win you over!

And I mean come on, look at this sweet boy!

If you're in the market for a pet, please consider adopting your next furry family member.  I've got two rescued dogs myself, so I can say from personal experience, they're kind of the best! Please consider stopping by and checking out Joel, or sharing Joel's story.  Who knows maybe Joel is the perfect fit for a friend of yours!

To learn more about Joel, please stop by EVACC at 815 Uhlhorn St. Evansville Indiana.  or give them a call (812) 435-6015.

A special thank you to my friend Missy Mosby for sharing this sweet boy's story and getting his message out.  And to my friend Sarah Gross, for sharing the photo of Joel with his "adopt me" bandanna on.  I have no doubt with the tireless rescue efforts these two put in, Joel is going to find his home!
