Steve Winkler is the Executive Director of the Cliff Hagan Boys & Girls Club, a positive safe place where kids can play and just be kids.

The Cliff Hagan Boys & Girls Club is dedicated to providing a safe, positive environment for youth ages 6-18 in Owensboro/Daviess County.

Steve shared why was there a need to open this club in our community back in 1967 and the history behind the Boys and Girls Club

Today’s young people face life-threatening challenges on a daily basis, substance abuse, neglect, poverty, parental guidance; the list is far too long. If our youth are to grow up and become productive citizens of society, they need a positive place away from these threats. A place where they can just be kids and a place where caring adults can help them develop the skills and self-confidence to say “NO” to dangerous pastimes.

Steve  also shared the many ways the Club is helping kids achieve academic success, healthy lifestyles and building their character and leadership abilities.

Did you know there are three main locations and that they are planning on opening up two more locations soon!
