UE Snubbed For March Madness

The UE Men's basketball team ended the 2015-2016 season with a 25-9 record and hopes of playing in March.

But even with one of their best seasons in recent memory ,the Purple Aces were snubbed by both the NCAA Tournament and the NIT.

In a press release, Purple Aces' Head Coach Marty Simmons explained why,

"In most seasons, 25 wins would do this, but with all of the upsets in the conference tournaments, just too many automatic bids to the NIT were taken by top seeds who did not win their conference"

It was the 1st time since the 1988-89 season that the Purple Aces finished with 25 wins.
