The town hall meeting will take place this Thursday, January 19th at Saint Lucas United Church of Christ located at 33 West Virginia Street in Evansville. The meeting will begin at 6:30pm. According to event organizers:

One of the great concerns of the local LGBT community, and many parents of LGBT students, is the bullying of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Students in area schools. Members of the TSA Youth Group have often been bullied in local schools, and the administrators of the schools often fail to act on behalf of the students (with most complaints being about the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation and the Warrick School Corporation). Suicide remains a risk for LGBT students who are bullied.

The meeting will begin with a panel discussion that will include local students and parents. They will speak on their personal experiences. The public is welcome to attend this event. If you'd like more details, you can find them on the official Facebook event page.
