INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles has released a video to help motor scooter drivers review new rules before they take effect in January. The video will explain which documents are needed to obtain a scooter license and the different types of licenses needed for various scooters. Commissioner Don Snemis (SNEH'-miss) says that the new video will help scooter drivers comply with the law.
NEW PARIS, Ind. (AP) — Fire has destroyed a large building at a northern Indiana manufacturing business. Officials say no injuries have been reported at Better Way Products near New Paris. Crews from at least 10 area fire departments were called to help shuttle water to the scene because no hydrants are nearby in the rural area.
WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) — Purdue University will be the site of a regional center for research into nutrition education and obesity prevention. Nutrition policy professor Dennis Savaiano will lead the North Central Nutrition Education Center of Excellence at the school. Purdue says the United States Department of Agriculture has awarded $4 million in grants to set up the center and others around the nation.
