ARE YOU A FRIED GREEN TOMATOES MOVIE FAN?

Angel here and one of my favorite movies of all time is FGT.  I would venture to say many would say that.  I'll never forget the first time I watched the movie I was going through some pretty tough times and that movie empowered me and made me feel like I could conquer the world.  If you've never seen the movie here's a little bit of the background;

TRAVELING PHOTOGRAPHER INSPIRED BY FRIED GREEN TOMATOES

Apryl Hopkins has traveled the world for her photography.  Her story as she says "began beauty from ashes" when she said goodbye to her brother and wanted to pour herself into creativity and self-expression.

Here's a part of her story as told by Apryl;

I began photographing my daughter which quickly led to friends and family requesting photo sessions. From there, I delved deep into learning all aspects of photography including now offering a fine art studio. I recently opened my own studio but continue to love natural light and on-location photo shoots. I absolutely love to travel and bring my art to as many places as I can. The idea behind creating styled concept photoshoots came from a love of feel-good classic movies and as a way to connect with my photography friends. This idea started with recreating The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks.

A TRIP TO THE WHISTLE STOP CAFE

Unfortunately due to Covid, Apryl and her crew had to take a two-year break and decided to roll back up on the scene in March with a bang.

Apryl says it was of utmost importance when the idea came about to make sure during the recreation of this movie it was as real and raw as possible;

It was very important to us to be as authentic as possible from the models to the styling to the location. This year’s photoshoot was a collaborative effort between Set in Time Photography owned by Sue Ellen Tolman of Tennessee, and Tami Cicale Photography owned by Tami Cicale of Maryland. We love getting together to shoot these styled shoots. From the months of planning to travel to new places with the added benefit of spending time with my close friends. I am so excited that everyone has loved what we’ve created and we can’t wait for our next project. I want to thank our perfect Ruth and Idgie models, Sydney Lucas and Brooklyn Riley who both embody everything about these characters we had hoped to capture.

Apryl told me if I ever have the opportunity to visit The Whistle Stop Cafe in Juliette, GA make sure and stop in and order the Bennett BBQ plate with Fried Green Tomatoes of course.
