Employer Leaving Tri-State
One of Warrick County's major employer announced that it will be permanently closing its Warrick County smelter.
Alcoa
Alcoa, which has been a one of Warrick County's biggest employers will be closing. About 600 people will lose their job by the end of March. Alcoa says that this is due to a major decline in aluminum prices and that changes are needed to stay competitive in the market.
While about one third of Alcoa's local workforce will be without a job, the rolling mill and power plant will remain in operation.
