With the message “Everything must go,” this isn’t just a sale, it’s a sendoff for a business that has been a staple in Henderson for over 30 years.

How It All Started: From Silk Trees to Seasonal Style

The story of Trees n Trends began in 1992 in Paducah, Kentucky, when Joe and Cindy Wallace opened their first store under the name Silk Tree Factory. What started as a small business selling handcrafted greenery like wreaths, bushes, and decorative trees quickly grew into something much bigger.

As styles evolved, so did the store’s name and product lines. Rebranded as Trees n Trends, the family-run business expanded into new categories like fashion, furniture, and seasonal décor, earning a loyal following across six locations.

A Family Legacy Rooted in Passion

From the very beginning, Trees n Trends was a family affair. Joe’s sisters Diane and Phyllis came on board in the early years, taking on roles in store management, buying, and office operations. Later, the next generation stepped in. The Wallace sons worked in the warehouse as teenagers and grew into leadership roles as adults, helping modernize the store's website and e-commerce efforts. Daughter-in-law Whitney later stepped up as CFO.

Behind the scenes, a team of dedicated employees, some with the company for 20 or even 30 years, helped bring the vision to life year after year. Many customers became like family, too.

A Grateful Goodbye from the Wallaces

In a heartfelt message posted online, the Wallace family thanked their customers, staff, and community:

“It has been our pleasure to bring you gifts and home décor from many parts of the globe… We have been greatly blessed to have been able to work so closely with our family. A heartfelt thank you to our customers, our employees, and our family, all of whom have made our journey of the last 30-plus years possible!”

While the business chapter is coming to a close, the family says their story is rooted in faith, ending their message with:

“The era of Trees N Trends has come to an end. But God’s goodness and faithfulness will never end.”
