Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Rondale Moore has died at the age of 25. On Saturday, it was reported that Moore was found deceased at his home in New Albany, Indiana. According to New Albany Police Chief Todd Bailey, he was discovered in his garage with a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound.

For so many football fans across Indiana — including right here in the Evansville area — Moore wasn’t just another NFL name. He was a homegrown talent who made a huge impact during his time at Purdue before taking his skills to the professional level.

Remembered for His Heart, Work Ethic, and Smile

His former teammate, Hollywood Brown, shared an emotional message on social media, saying Moore had messaged him just hours before his death and reminding him, “You wasn’t alone bro… I told you I know how you feel.” It’s a heartbreaking reminder that struggles aren’t always visible from the outside.

Moore’s former coach at Purdue, Jeff Brohm, also released a heartfelt statement, calling him “a complete joy to coach” and praising his unmatched work ethic, competitive spirit, and the smile that could light up a room. Brohm said, “We all loved Rondale… we offer all of our thoughts and prayers to Rondale and his family.”
