Social Media Habits That Leave Couples Looking Cringe-worthy
The Cringiest Things Couples Do on Social Media (Sorry, Not Sorry)
With love in the air, couples are everywhere right now—holding hands, going on cute dates, posting flowers and chocolates. And honestly? Most of that is sweet. We love love.
But… can we talk about the cringe for a second?
We asked on our Facebook page what some of the cringiest things couples do on social media, and wow—y’all had thoughts. One answer came in loud and clear: joint Facebook accounts.
You know the ones.
“MikeAndSarah Smith.”
“JoshnAmanda Forever.”
Nothing makes people scroll faster than realizing they’re about to read a status written by both of you. And let’s be honest—everyone secretly wonders which one of you actually posted it.
Just The Beginning
A lot of you also mentioned over-the-top PDA… online. We’re talking long love letters in the captions, kissing selfies every single day, and paragraphs that should’ve stayed in the Notes app—or better yet, private texts. A little “date night ❤️” post? Totally fine. A five-paragraph essay about your soulmate every Tuesday? We’re tired.
Then there’s the public arguing disguised as quotes. If you’re posting “Real ones don’t lie” or “Funny how people change” every time you’re mad at your partner… we see you. And we don’t need the play-by-play.
Valentine’s Day especially brings out the worst of it. It’s sweet when couples exchange gifts, go out to dinner, or post a simple pic from their night out. Even holding hands or a quick kiss? No big deal.
But when technology gets involved—constant posting, tagging each other in everything, live-updating the relationship and it starts to feel like we’re all third-wheeling your love story.
Moral of the story? Love each other loudly if you want—just maybe not *so* loudly on everyone’s timeline.
