Looking for a Book That Might Actually Help You? These Are Some of the Most Recommended

Today is International Book Day, which makes it the perfect excuse to pick up a new book. I love to read, I can admit sometimes I get in a reading rut to where I don't pick up a book and I doom scroll on social media. While sometimes I have books just sit on a shelf looking nice. Some books are popular because they’re entertaining. Others are popular because people say they actually help you change the way you think, work, or live. I have read a lot of books that help me give the motivation and knowledge I need or books that are just an overall brain getaway.

For International Book Day I wanted to share some life changing books that could change your way of thinking. If you’ve been thinking about reading something that might be useful, here are a few titles people constantly recommend.

Books That Help You Build Better Habits

If you’ve ever tried to start a new routine and it didn’t stick, these books focus on how small changes can make a big difference over time.

  • Atomic Habits (gave me new healthy habits I do when I feel stuck)
  • The Power of Habit
  • Make Your Bed (I never stop making mine now)

These books break down how daily habits shape your life and why small improvements can add up to big results.

Books That Focus on Mindset and Mental Health

Some of the most talked-about books aren’t about productivity at all they’re about understanding how your mind works. I have yet to read some of these.

  • Mindset
  • Man’s Search for Meaning
  • Why We Sleep

From how your beliefs affect success to the importance of sleep and finding purpose, these books dive into what helps people stay mentally strong.

Books About Money and Success

If you’ve ever wanted to understand how people think about money differently, these titles come up again and again.

  • The Psychology of Money
  • Think and Grow Rich
  • The Richest Man in Babylon

They focus less on get-rich-quick ideas and more on how people think about saving, spending, and long-term success.

Books That Help With Confidence and People Skills

And then there are books that focus on relationships, communication, and staying calm under pressure.

  • How to Win Friends & Influence People
  • Never Split the Difference
  • Meditations

These range from learning how to connect with people better to advice on negotiation and even ancient wisdom about staying grounded. Understanding that books can you give a direction and teach you a lot but not always entirely solve the problem. But it's a start in giving YOU the motivation to solve the problem YOU are struggling with.

The best part about lists like this is you don’t have to read all of them—sometimes just one good book can change the way you approach something in your life. I know reading has gotten me this far!

So if you’re celebrating International Book Day, this might be the perfect time to start one. 📚
