Indiana Teen’s Viral ‘Proposal’ Could Inspire Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce
The Highland Challenger League recently held its annual fundraising event and the entertainment turned into a sweet viral moment.
Brian Kinsey, Mike Blake, Michael Daugherty
Icons of Evansville took the stage at the Vanderburgh 4-H Fairgrounds to raise money for The Highland Challenger League. Organizer Brian Kinsey tells me that nearly $12,000 was raised and that money will go toward the fundraising efforts for new turf.
Evansville's Mayor Stephanie Terry did not lip sync - She is the real-deal singer!
Will the Real Taylor Swift Take the Stage?
Taylor Merriss, Liberty DeWig, Izzy Loehr
When I get tasked with a project that involves entertainment, I take it very seriously. I had a vision of using three different Taylor Swift songs for one of our lip-sync performances. You might Taylor Merriss, who is the Special Projects Coordinator with the Evansville Police Department. Even though she isn't a Swifty, or an on-stage type of person, she completely careered her performance.

Did I mention that we did not practice this at all? I talked everyone through their parts on the day of the show. In the second video, you see me really embracing Karma...Except that isn't what you'll hear. TikTok did not appreciate this particular clip.

Love Story Gone Viral
Chase DeWig and Izzy Loehr are freshmen at New Tech High School in Evansville, Indiana. It took a little bit of convincing to talk them both into being part of our Eras Lip Sync. But, Chase is my son, and Izzy is a total Swifty, so they agreed. They didn't even have to rehearse, and they are going viral for this super sweet 'Say Yes' moment.

Everyone Can Play Ball
The Highland Baseball Challenger League believes in the power of inclusivity. This adaptive baseball program is dedicated to serving youth between the ages of 3 and 18 who face physical and intellectual challenges. Every child deserves to experience the joy of sports, and individuals of all abilities to join the team. No family faces financial barriers, and no player is ever turned away.
Sticking with the 'No Rehearsal' theme, here is our version of Weird Barbie and Boxing Barbie.

What is the Highland Challenger League?
Founded in 2014, the Highland Challenger Baseball League on Evansville's north side gives kids between the ages of three and 18 the opportunity to play the game of baseball regardless of their physical or intellectual limitations. The league is free to join and no player is turned away. If a child wants to play, they'll find a place for them to play.
