New Evansville, Indiana Pizza Shop is Don Mattingly Approved
Starting a new business, especially a restaurant is a very risky venture. But for Casey Keown, his desire to build his dream far outweighed any obstacle or sacrifice.
Dream it, Believe it, Build it
Casey Keown has dreamed of opening a cool pizza spot where friends could gather and enjoy great food, drinks, and baseball. Yes, baseball is the theme for Casey's Dugout. More specifically, Donnie Baseball. His pizza boutique is full of amazing Don Mattingly memorabilia, and shout-outs to Evansville's past.
Mattingly Approved
Imagine building a restaurant based around one of your all-time heroes, and then showing it to said hero. No Pressure, right? Well, Casey Keown seemed to keep his cool during Don Mattingly's recent visit to Casey's Dugout. Representatives from Mattingly Charities look forward to working with Casey on events. In fact, there are t-shirts for sale with the proceeds going to Mattingly Charities.

Of course, the menu includes a pizza in honor of Mattingly called The Hit Man and it has sausage, mushroom, and extra cheese.

Standing Room Only
The special ribbon cutting was full of sports royalty including the master of ceremonies, Mike Blake. He is quite the legend when it comes to reporting local sports. If you've been around Evansville for a while, you know that Mike Blake reported sports for many years on WFIE.
This right here was years in the making, you see in my head I’ve worked a hundred 10-15 hour days in this shop but In actuality, I haven’t fired this oven up one time… construction was finished yesterday and today was the day I wanted to reward myself and pull the brown paper down! have way too many people to thank for this opportunity and I thank God for putting me in this position, right here, right now.
