This Evansville Coffee Shop Is Celebrating 10 Years in a BIG Way
Ten Years, Ten Days and One Big $10,000 Goal
Ten years, thousands of cups of coffee and a whole lot of memories later, one Evansville coffee shop is celebrating a pretty major birthday.
And instead of simply putting 10 candles on a cake and calling it a day, Honey Moon Coffee Co. is turning its 10th anniversary into a celebration for the entire community complete with tattoos, tacos, flowers, specialty lattes and a pretty incredible goal to give back.
So, if Honey Moon has ever been your morning coffee stop, your study spot, your meeting place or simply somewhere you've popped into for a latte, you're invited to help celebrate.
From a Local Coffee Shop to 10 Years of Honey Moon
It's hard to believe Honey Moon Coffee Co. has officially been part of the Evansville community for a decade.
To mark the milestone, Honey Moon is hosting a 10th Anniversary Open House on Saturday, August 29, from 6 to 9 p.m.** at its West Side location.
The event is both kid- and dog-friendly, so the whole family can come along for the celebration.
And this isn't your typical anniversary party.
You Can Actually Get a Honey Moon Tattoo
See, I told you this isn't your typical anniversary party.
Pincushion Piercing & Tattoo Studio will be popping up during the celebration with a special Honey Moon-themed flash tattoo sheet. Tattoos will range from $50 to $75, so if you've ever loved a coffee shop enough to permanently prove it, apparently this is your opportunity.
If a tattoo is a little too permanent for your taste, don't worry. There will also be a build-your-own bouquet flower truck at the event.
And then, of course, there's the food.
Bestcoast Tacos will be on-site serving up tacos throughout the evening, while Honey Moon will be making special Anniversary Cake Lattes all night long.
Basically, come hungry and probably caffeinated.
Honey Moon Employees Are Going Head-to-Head
What's a 10th birthday without a little friendly competition?
Employees representing every Honey Moon location will face off in a Latte Art Throwdown, showing off their skills to determine who deserves to be crowned Honey Moon's Latte Art Champion.
If you've ever looked down at the heart or little design floating on top of your latte and wondered how in the world baristas do that, this could be your chance to watch them put those skills to the test.
But This Birthday Celebration Is About More Than Coffee
While Honey Moon is looking back at 10 years in Evansville, the coffee shop is also using the milestone to help people throughout the Tri-State.
Honey Moon Coffee Co. is partnering with **Tri-State Food Bank** to raise money to provide food for **children, seniors, veterans and families in our community who need a little extra help**.
And there's a fitting goal behind the fundraiser:
10 years. 10 days. $10,000.
Honey Moon is asking customers to help it raise $10,000 in 10 days in honor of its 10th anniversary.
Customers can contribute while visiting Honey Moon, whether that's adding a dollar to their visit, donating $10 or choosing another amount. It's a pretty simple way to turn your morning coffee run into something that can make a difference for another family in the Tri-State.
Celebrate the Coffee Shop That Became Part of the Community
One of the coolest things about watching a local business reach a milestone like this is realizing how many little moments happened along the way.
Maybe you've been going to Honey Moon since the beginning. Maybe you have a favorite drink your barista already knows. Maybe you've met friends there, worked from one of its tables or made it part of your weekend routine.
Or maybe you just discovered it.
Either way, Honey Moon says the community is a big reason it has made it to 10 years, and now it wants that community there to celebrate.
The Honey Moon Coffee Co. 10th Anniversary Open House is happening Saturday, August 29, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the West Side location.
Come for an Anniversary Cake Latte. Stay for tacos and the latte art competition. Build yourself a bouquet. Maybe even leave with a new tattoo.
And while you're celebrating 10 years of a local Evansville business, consider tossing a few dollars toward Honey Moon's $10,000 Tri-State Food Bank goal.
After all, that's a pretty sweet way to toast the next 10 years.
