Gibson County Waives Pet Adoption Fees This January
Looking for a New Best Friend? January Is the Perfect Time
If bringing a new furry friend into your life has been on your 2026 bingo card, this might be your sign.
Gibson County Animal Services is making it extra easy to adopt this month by sponsoring ALL dog and cat adoptions through January 31, 2026. Yep — sponsored. Which means the adoption fee is covered, and so are a lot of the things that usually come with extra costs. And what perfect time than at the beginning of a new year? Last year I became a cat mom at the 3rd of the year - I wanted to start the year off right and with a fury friend and you could do the same!
Every sponsored adoption includes spay or neuter surgery, worming, a heartworm check, vaccinations, and even a microchip. Basically, your new pet goes home already set up for success and peace of mind for you.
And if you’re interested in adopting but want a little more time to be sure it’s the right fit, Gibson County Animal Services has also launched a brand-new Foster to Adopt Program. This option is perfect for families looking to adopt a dog or cat who hasn’t been spayed or neutered yet.
Here’s how it works: your family fosters the pet while they wait for their surgery. Once that’s completed, the adoption is finalized. It gives you time to make sure the pet fits your home, your routine, and your heart — without any pressure.
So if you’ve been thinking about adding a dog or cat to your family, January is the perfect time to do it. You might just find your new best friend and give them the forever home they’ve been waiting for. 🐶🐱💙
